Dear Mr. Biden,
With the shocking news of America’s 2024 Presidential Election results, I feel compelled to write this letter. And I’m pretty sure I’m not just speaking for myself.
As President of the USA, your first duty is to care for the welfare of your country. As leader of today’s world superpower, your duty is to consider the welfare of the world at large, particularly the Free World. The rhetoric coming from Mr. Trump and his followers leaves little open to the imagination: they plan to destroy democracy, and establish a developing fascist and totalitarian dream of theirs.
The Founding Fathers were not stupid, and established checks and balances so that such threats could be handled. They did not advocate merely a “dictatorship of the masses” or as it is called "tyranny of the majority" (e.g., through elections), to replace historical forms of government.
I plead with you from every angle, to consult with lawyers who have expertise in the U.S. Constitution, and demand that they come up with a solution to prevent that man from returning to the White House. If the result is some form of a civil war, although obviously tragic, it will be well worth it versus the alternative- which would be an express train to the Apocalypse. If you do not feel up to handling this, then I suggest you choose a strong, intelligent, moral decent and fit individual to take your place in handling it.
If we cannot prevent such a blatant threat from materializing into a reality, then in fact the Founding Fathers may have been stupid. Or we are the stupid ones, and will fully deserve the consequences.
Additionally, I suggest you let your Christian soul sprout, and that you endeavor to explain to Christians the difference between Jesus’ version of God’s love-drenched fire, which Jesus will be bringing to this earth, and the demented destructive fire that Mr. Trump and his followers wish to invite. Their fire is directly from Hell and nowhere else.
Mr. CS Lewis stated the following, referring to the world climate that led to World War 2:
“There is nothing progressive about being pig-headed and refusing to admit a mistake. And I think if you look at the present state of the world it's pretty plain that humanity has been making some big mistake. We're on the wrong road. And if that is so we must go back. Going back is the quickest way on.” (Mere Christianity, 1952)
While I may not agree with all your views, or the views of your political party, you are the one responsible to prevent a repeat of history. Except that this time the world is armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons.
Any sane person can forecast that Mr. Trump and his side will not allow power to be taken away from them a second time. If they set up shop in the White House again, they will not be leaving before the world finds itself with a severe shortage of human graves.
You accomplished the impossible, lifting this country and the world from the dark cloud of the previous U.S. president. Please finish the job fully, as history will reward you greatly for such a thing. But history will be dumbfounded at the blindness of this generation, if that man does return to bring his destruction.
