I can’t help questioning whether the support of Christians for Mr. Trump and his followers, is out of a form of desperation, due to finding themselves approximately 1,991 years after Christ’s ascension, and facing a godless world of chaos, and which has seemingly walked off the deep end or into the loony bin.
Yet Matthew 24:24 clearly warns about following any random supposedly Christian solution, as do many other scriptures, particularly in the Book of Revelation.
In my estimation, what the Bible demands of a Christian today, is perseverance in Faith, and actively engaging in the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel based on love and kindness, and being a model of Christ to others. And to insist only on a government led by Christ Himself, and/or the Advocate/Comforter, with an end goal mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:28, where Christ establishes the True Kingdom of God, with God as all in all.
Human totalitarian regimes have never brought anything but destruction in the long run. And I’m perplexed at the apparent public amnesia about this fact, especially among Christians.
God Bless.
Today marks the most sad day in human history up to this point. It is a day when humanity has insisted to not recall an important lesson it has learned from a war that took place less than 100 years ago.
I would not equate Donald Trump and his party, with Adolf Hitler and his party, for numerous reasons. But Hitler exploited undesirable economic and other conditions in German society at the time, to get himself elected. The rest is in your history books.
Unless Mr. Trump and his followers are forcefully stopped, I believe I am not crying wolf by forecasting a World War Three in the not-too-distant future.
What has gotten us to such a position, in my view, would include the following:
Yet at the same time, it is no different than any other historical period, and can also be the happiest and most joyful moment in all of human history, since any person at any instant can choose to find Christ, and to commit to and follow Him, and thereby have their eternal life in Paradise and the coming Kingdom of God, as guaranteed.
There are American and international charities who regularly collect money to support starving children in Africa, and by no means will I belittle the need for such efforts. However, there are a huge number of homeless people living right here in this country. These are very real human beings, who had childhoods not unlike most other Americans. But for one reason or another, whether in their teens, 20s, or 60s, they became homeless. And once in that position, it is usually a one-way hole with no exit. Unless others assist the person, it is rare for someone in such a condition to fully make it back into mainstream society.
I won't pretend to be like one of the prophets in the Bible, but I can say that in my eyes, the current setup cannot last. Either America must wake up and look at itself in the mirror regarding such things, or there will be a significant disaster to help them see more clearly.
On a daily basis, innocent homeless people silently die, and no one around them seem to care at all. I think the cries and concern of the pavement and the mud of the earth will get so loud in God's ears, that something will need to be done.
Call me crazy if you'd like, but I think the status quo regarding such things cannot last much longer. God always loves to forgive after seeing change and repentance. But He sure as heck knows how to use the stick too. And Justice is His middle name.
Phrased differently, in case this was not clear enough:
There is NO EXCUSE for there to exist so many homeless people in today's supposedly advanced First World countries.
Unfortunately this may need to be added: I'm obviously not advocating getting rid of them by locking them in jail or in detention camps. I'm noting that something needs to be done to address the causes of such a problem, and housing needs to be set up for those who are currently in such predicaments. I don't see how someone can purchase a $1,500 smartphone online, then go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, and ignore the person shivering in the cold, wishing they could buy a piece of bread. And then chat with friends and proudly face the world as though all is well. Etc. The point isn't about guilt, but about a more clear view of what is taking place. You need to be in a very deep sleep to avoid seeing such glaring problems. How can a modern country with such problems, look itself in the mirror? It should be weeping all day at the thought of what is taking place within its borders.
Mr. Trump is not someone funny or cute or entertaining. And he isn't an interesting character to spice up a boring world. Rather, you are dealing with a demented egomaniac who WILL- factually- lead this world to the brink of World War 3.
The poor, the disabled, the homeless, the queers, the minorities, and anyone in an unfortunate position, are merely the first victims. If you think they're irrelevant, the fire has your address on it next.
This reality can only tolerate injustice for a limited amount of time. Your money won't have the slightest ability to save you from what is coming next.
Yet, God is also Kind and Compassionate to an utmost extreme, and will gladly accept a genuine change in direction. But the choice needs to be made. Unlike Mr. Trump and his followers, God is no sissy.
If you believe that the American Civil War was justified, from either side of the battle, then it should be legit to call a spade a spade in this instance, and to take necessary measures to establish justice. (Namely, sometimes something has gone past acceptable limits, and demands a drastic or unconventional response.)
[edit 11/25/25]
Vote for Jesus Christ, not those.
(Yes- the real Christ will lead a real world, as in Isaiah 9:6 and 1 Corinthians 15:24-25.)
How could so many seemingly sane human beings living in America vote for a person such as Donald Trump, to be leader of the most powerful nation in earth's history? This may be one of the reasons: An average American's firsthand knowledge of New York City, is often limited to their "I love NY" t-shirt, or a NY Yankees baseball cap.
Within NYC itself, someone like Mr. Trump is usually not given an iota of actual power over anything, although such a person is ideally respected and recognized as a human being. The city is packed with lunatics like him, all claiming to be gods, but they aren't given the ability to cause much harm. The rest of the country seems clueless about where Mr. Trump has come from. In Utah, in Minnesota, in Washington state, or most other states, if someone claims to be "someone", it is usually assumed that in fact they are that. Because if that were not the case, wouldn't they be locked in an insane asylum? They don't realize that where Trump comes from, the insane asylum exists on any random public street.
(This was written about 500 years ago, but sounds fitting for today, removing some details like location names. It is a play on the Lord's Prayer, that was given by Jesus Christ.)
Our devil, who does in Brussels dwell;
Cursed be your name in earth and Hell.
Your kingdom speedily pass away;
Which has blasted and blighted us many a day.
And may your will never more be done;
In heaven above, or under the sun.
You take away our daily bread;
Our wives and children lie starving or dead.
No one's trespass you forgive;
Revenge is the food on which you live.
You lead all people into temptation;
To Evil you have delivered this nation.
Our father in heaven, to You we pray;
Soon send this Hellish devil away.
And with him, his council false and bloody;
Who make murder and pillage their daily study.
And all his savage wardogs of Spain;
Send them back to the Devil, their father, again.
Amen.
When I accuse the current U.S. president of being a probable cause towards bringing the world to the brink of World War 3, aside from direct actions on his part, I have in mind the results of his mentality in general.
A male gorilla that pounds its chest in the presence of other male gorillas, will naturally cause the others to reevaluate their positions and goals.
I would suggest that Brexit, the Ukraine war, ReArm Europe, and amplified overt hostility by China, Iran, North Korea, militant Islam, and others, and increase in Far Right movements and groups, and disproportionate reactions by Far Left groups, can easily be related to Mr. Trump's blind callous behavior and mentality, which is also somewhat reflected by his followers and supporters. International balance of power is like walking on eggshells- America is not the only one with a gun. And such very necessary nuances seem to be wholly outside of his sphere of consciousness.
I don't believe the world today is as it should be, but going cowboy in a spiteful and evil manner, isn't going to bring pleasant or desirable results.
(Although his behavior is inexcusable, however in a way I feel bad for him more than others. Someone should have prevented this from proceeding, and the mess he will bring to this country, the world, and ultimately in a big way to himself.)
See here for a possible audacious alternative plan.
The ideas mentioned there could be accused by Christians as being those of an antichrist. And others may say that it's just insanity or evil. But I would suggest that a reader evaluate each point, and if it is deemed to be faulty, then by all means- come up with an alternative plan. A person should be ready for the arrival of Jesus Christ today. But nothing guarantees that in fact He will come today. I don't think He wants His followers to simply be washed out to sea by whatever tide happens to show up. If you consider my views as religious fanaticism, likewise, please evaluate the real challenges in the world, and come up with better solutions. I'd love to hear them.
My primary audience is a handful of faint flames still on this earth, that desire, believe in, and aim for True Christianity. The type of Christianity that Jesus preached and would feel comfortable around. Fire truly in its place, and kindness truly in its place, and never a confused version of those. Something you would probably only fully find if Jesus were right here.
The adultress is excused, the prostitute is forgiven, yet you are told to cut off a limb of your body that sins. The Pharisees are ridiculed for lack of respect for their parents, yet Jesus says about a family visit "who is my mother and who are my brothers?". Jesus demands His followers to be humble servants of others, but says that He came to bring fire and a sword. Etc.
(My primary audience is NOT those who worship a Jesus who was the first and last to pick up a stone to kill the adultress, making darn sure she was fully dead. Or a Jesus who told Mary Magdalene to go find another man to tag along with. And it is also not the Jesus who abruptly interrupted his teachings to go out and greet His mother, falling down at her feet in a paralyzed subservient rapture. Or who said "Let pagans be pagans- God loves everyone." Etc. But if you are of one of those persuasions, you are welcome to see what I have to say, and maybe something can be gained.)
I'm just a person who tries to be a true Christian, aims to care about others, believes in ideals and standards for this life, and has a strong allergy and aversion to Evil and its related products.
